Back then gambling was flourishing and provided a fine ground for blackjack to become more popular. But the U.S. government, later on, saw that uncontrolled gambling led to corruption and organized crime.

In 1910 gambling was outlawed and the situation got far worse than when the government didn’t do a thing. Eventually, to prevent things from getting far worse, gambling was legalized with rules that protected players and created overseeing bodies of the government.

When Las Vegas was reborn, blackjack caught on like wildfire. This is because it caught the attention and imagination of the U.S. population at that time. And now blackjack has become one of the pillars of casino establishments throughout the world.
